Longtime Enumclaw resident Lucille Fallen, age 85, passed away Saturday June 13, 2009 in her home on the family farm where she was raised. Lucille was born to Joseph and Anna (Laush) Sturm September 23, 1923 in Enumclaw. She married her high school sweetheart Grant Fallen on October 23, 1943. They were married for 48 years. She was a Registered Nurse and graduated from Virginia Mason School of Nursing in 1945. She then graduated from Northwestern Reserve University in Ohio as a Nurse Anesthetist. She worked as a RN for many years in several different hospitals, including Enumclaw. She retired from Skagit Valley Hospital in 1972. Lucille was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She helped with the youth group dinners at church on Wednesday nights. She was a longtime member of the VFW auxiliary. Some of her hobbies included needlework, reading, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her entire family. She enjoyed spending time at Hood Canal. She had traveled to Europe several times as well as throughout the U.S. and through the Panama Canal.Lucille is survived by her daughters Pam (Jerry) Boldrin of Renton; and Judi (Howard) Sonneson of Buckley; daughter-in-law Kathy Fallen of Enumclaw; sister Dorothy Van Hoof of Enumclaw; grandchildren Shayne Passino; Jason (Tracy) Passino; Derek (Lee) Fallen; Shannon (Jim) Gruber; and Brooke (Daryn) Nakhuda; great-grandchildren Rachel Passino; Sara Pasino; David Fallen; Gavin Fallen; Maryn Passino; and Ruby Nakhuda.She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Fallen; son, Dave Fallen; and brother, Joe Sturm.
