Patience with Patients

This past week both Keith and Dad have been hospitalized and I have found myself cruising back and forth between VM and UW...

Keith went in on Friday, March 27, for repair to his aortic aneurysm. I dropped Keith off and once his surgery was officially underway, headed up to Edmonds to pick up Dad for what was supposed to be a clinic check-up with his cardiologist regarding his eligibility for a pace-maker. It ended up a scrambled weekend for my sisters and I as we co-ordinated our schedules for his week long stay in the hospital. He has a lot of fluid in his system which is putting stress on the heart muscle as it overworks to try and pump all the excess liquid. All his tests so far ensure that he is a good candidate for a pace-maker, but all the fluid has to go away first. And the best place to monitor his progress is in the hosptital...So we are waiting as this is a slow process. Keith's surgery was a success and is now home recuperating and doing quite well.

Request of prayers for Dad and the patience needed as he deals with the long days in a hospital bed so his health will improve enough to allow for the installation of a pace-maker.....and for Keith and the patience needed not to do too much as he recovers and heals after surgery.
